Power restored to more than 5,000 county Kilkenny properties following outage

Power has been restored to more than 5,000 local properties following an outage yesterday evening.

Due to a fault at about 7:30pm in Ballyhale, homes and businesses not just in the immediate area but also stretching to Thomastown and just over the Tipperary border in Carrick-on-Suir are understood to have been impacted.

ESB Networks had electricity flow back to most by 10pm with 280 still waiting at that stage.

By morning however supply had returned to all.
