Irish MEP to challenge the legal basis of EU trade with Israel

Ireland South MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú will present a formal petition later this afternoon to the European Parliament to review Israel’s compliance with the human rights laws.

The Carlow native is calling on the European Commission to formally investigate technical breaches of EU law in trading and selling arms with Israel.

She has the support of 27 Irish Senior Counsel and Barristers.

Ms Ní Mhurcú told KCLR that something needs to be done now.
