Traffic on a busy route on the outskirts of Kilkenny city was held to a standstill for a time earlier.
Quarry Hill is a regular bumper-to-bumper stretch, especially after the new layout was installed at the Bennettsbridge Road Roundabout which has led to queues of stalled vehicles on all sides at peak times.
This afternoon however, delays were due to a swan which decided to glide across with motorists slowing to a stop to ensure its safe passing.
