There are reports of what’s been called a ‘significant’ oil spill in the Tullow area.
Carlow County Council’s Tullow Municipal District has been notified that it runs northbound on the N81, beginning at Coppenagh (known locally as The Showgrounds) towards Rathlyon.

Crews are en route to treat it.
This extent of roadway has several series of severe bends, so motorists are urged to take extreme care until the spillage is treated.
