Tonight’s programme is a Ceol Anocht “Director’s Cut”, featuring interviews with Ger Eaton and Matthew Deverueux, who discuss their respective debut albums.
Ger has added his musical nous to a variety of bands over the years but has finally produced his debut album, “Season Changes”. It’s gorgeous collection of music and has impressed many people since its release. It’s been called “Baroque Pop” and there are certainly some traces, and he has produced an album of subtle growers, a mix of beautiful music and deeply felt lyrics ! Inside these sweet melodies are deeply person and truthful lyrics..
Coincidentally, Ger has also worked with The Pale, of which Matthew Devereux is a founding member. He too toke time away to produce his debut album, “Keep Sketch”, which is a finely crafted series of heartfelt reminiscences. While you don’t have to be from Dublin, some references do make more sense. As you’ll hear too, there is time taken in all elements and it sounds hypnotically gorgeous as the lyrics bring you back to a time and place.
