It’s set to be a windy and wet afternoon across Kilkenny and Carlow.
A Status Yellow wind warning for 11 counties comes into effect from 4pm this afternoon (Sunday) and will remain in place until midnight tonight.
The warning has been issued for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Wexford and Wicklow.
Met Éireann is warning of difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees and some wave overtopping in coastal areas.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather told us this:
“It will turn very windy later on this afternoon and this evening, windy right across the country, but the strongest of the winds will be in the southwest and then the west and following up into the northwest as the system progresses.”
“Also very wet again this afternoon and this evening, So very wet and windy here and right across the country.” he added.
