Kilkenny based Carlow man Niall Culleton has been talking to the KCLR Sport podcast about getting his place on the PDC tour.
The Graiguecullen man represented Leinster Rugby at underage levels but injury and a medical condition ended his playing career.
Culleton tells us about his journey from professional rugby to professional darts.
“I only properly started throwing darts in 2016, got into one of the pubs down there, played the pub leagues, progressed on to
playing county with Kilkenny at the time. Within a year and a half then of playing Irish rankings, I was Irish number one and captain for the World Cup in 2019 in Romania. I knew myself, there was something there from that time and then that’s when the journey started to try and get professional card.”
You can hear that interview in its entirety on the KCLR Sport podcast available from wherever you get your podcasts.
Culleton tells us all about his ambitions for 2026 and how he is one of the few darts players out there who has beaten Luke Littler!
