“The clash of the ash and the tingle in the fingertips” echoed across Sliabh Bawn on Mount Leinster yesterday evening as the Carlow Puc Fada finals took place in brilliant sunshine.
There was a strong turnout for the annual competition, with titles decided across senior and under-16 hurling and camogie grades.
In the senior hurling competition, defending champion Ciaran Abbey of Naomh Eoin retained his title ahead of St Mullins’ Mark Ryan, with TJ Darcy of Bagenalstown Gaels finishing third.
The under-16 hurling title went to Keelan O’Carroll of St Mullins, while Jack Richardson claimed second place and Will O’Toole of Burren Rangers finished third.
In senior camogie, Sarah Sheehan of Naomh Eoin came out on top ahead of Rachael Breen from Mount Leinster Rangers and Bronagh Myers of Carlow Town.
