The Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre on the Waterford Road in Kilkenny is holding an open day at its new facility this afternoon (Saturday), beginning at two o’clock.
The organisation is opening its doors to the general public to thank all who have supported the centre’s fundraising activities in recent years.
Speaking to KCLR News, Cois Nore Chairperson Dr Bill Cuddihy said the building’s location, just off the Ring Road, was ideal.
“When we visited it here, this ticked so many boxes in terms of accessibility, location, visibility, and yet at the same time, a bit of privacy and dignity as well.” said Bill.
“There was enough space around the house to allow for sufficient car parking spaces as well, you know, so the people can come in, drive in off the Waterford Road, and come into our place and be seen quickly and discreetly.” he added.
