Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Tramore this morning.
A woman in her 50s suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after the incident at the Holy Cross Church on Summerhill shortly before 9:45am.
She was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment.
A man in his 30s was arrested at a nearby house and remains in Garda custody.
A knife has been seized for forensic examination.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Summerhill area between 9:15 and 10:15 today, particularly those with dashcam or other camera footage, to contact Tramore Garda Station.
