A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with a serious assault at a church in Tramore, County Waterford, yesterday morning.
Mary McNamara who is in her 50s, is understood to be praying at the Holy Cross Church in Tramore at around 9.45 when she was attacked.

She suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment.
A knife was seized, and technically examined.

A man aged in his 30s was arrested at a house nearby yesterday.
The accused is due to appear before Waterford District Court at 10.30 this morning.
