The rate at which rents are rising are still high in the four major cities outside Dublin.
Rents from March to June were 13% higher in Galway city, 12% more in Cork and up 11% in Limerick than a year before.
For our local Kilkenny city the jump was 13.4% while Carlow saw a larger leap at 16.5%.
Daft.ie says there were just under 2,400 homes available to rent nationwide on August 1st, but rental homes in Dublin fell by 18% over the year.
