Khan’s Bookshop in Kilkenny is to close its doors after 32 years in business.
Owner Khan Kiely announced the news on social media today, thanking the people of Kilkenny and local schools for their support over the years.
She said since Brexit that it had become too difficult to get supplies from discounters.
She says the bookshop was particularly proud of its children’s books and school book fairs.
“We had a fantastic children’s book business. Now, I worked very much on that, and I was actually very good at that area, I was also very interested in reading myself, because I actually struggled to learn how to read myself, being dyslexic, so all of this was very close to my heart.”
“I loved the fact that we sold books from a euro upwards, like everybody could shop in Khans.”
