A Waterford City Councillor believes it’s time to stop fighting with the neighbouring Kilkenny authority and to work together for the people of Ferrybank.
Councillor Eamon Quinlan, part of whose district includes the Waterford section of Ferrybank, opposed Waterford Council’s pursuit of a judicial review into the planning permission Kilkenny County Council granted to Dunnes Stores’ parent company to redevelop the Ferrybank Shopping Centre.
This was withdrawn in July after High Court Justice Richard Humphreys indicated that he would not find in Waterford City and County Council’s favour were he to deliver a judgment on the case.
Councillor Quinlan told KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes that it was the best interests of all parties to move forward in a more positive and collaborative manner.
