Torc Candles were named the overall winner of last night’s Carlow Business Awards.
The Borris based business also scooped the Medium Business of the Year prize at the event held in Visual.
Presenting the team with their award, Cathaoirleach, Cllr Tommy Kinsella said; “Carlow County Council are proud to sponsor the Carlow Business Awards 2026 as part of our ongoing engagement with County Carlow Chamber and the business community. I would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners, finalists and nominees on their achievements. Being recognised among your peers is a significant accomplishment and one that should be celebrated.”
26 accolades in total were handed out – President of organising body Carlow Chamber, Norah Ryan, commented; ‘ The Carlow Business Awards are always an eye opener – they highlight not only the quality and variety of businesses operating throughout the county, but they also give us an insight into the amazing achievements of the companies that enter.’
She added; ‘Huge congratulations to the team in Torc Candles who stood out for the progress and development that they have made over the years. Their passion, commitment, drive and vision evolved a traditional, craft-led, labour-intensive business into an innovative, modern, world class company, without losing any of its authenticity.’
Her President’s Award went to Xenon Building Technology with the Lifetime Achievement bestowed upon Joe Tully of Tully’s Travel with Olly Hennessy named Ambassador of the Year.
