The Carlow county champions have been crowned following a big weekend of hurling, with Mount Leinster Rangers claiming the Senior Hurling Championship title.
Rangers edged out St Mullins by 3-16 to 1-18 in the 100th JJ Kavanagh Carlow Senior Hurling Final at Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday night.
Chris Nolan was the star of the show, hitting a hat-trick as Mount Leinster Rangers secured their 13th county championship.
Speaking after the game, Nolan said the win was a real test of character for the Rangers players.
“It was a test of character out there. Especially that second half, I cannot be prouder of the lads. Especially with ten minutes to go in the second half. St Mullins were on fire, as they will be when you look at the quality of the forwards they have in their team.
“To turn it around out there because we were on the back foot in that second half. I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of the lads.”
It was a big weekend for Mount Leinster Rangers off the hurling field too, with their camogie team booking their place in the Carlow Senior Camogie Final after beating Myshall in their semi-final.
They’ll face Naomh Bríd in the decider.
In the Intermediate Hurling Championship, Carlow Town were crowned champions after beating Burren Rangers 4-18 to 16 points.
And Ballinkillen claimed the Junior Championship title with a 2-18 to 1-10 victory over St Mullins.
