Carlow woman shocked at failure of court appeal in Greece

A Carlow woman has expressed her shock at the guilty verdict for charges against her husband in Greece.

The second highest court in Greece has upheld almost all of the counts against her Albanian husband.

Julie Markus’ husband Mark has been in prison for nearly 4 years now, after he was convicted of a string of charges.

He and his family claim he was here in Ireland when some of the alleged crimes happened.

The long awaited appeal to a jail sentence handed down to the man was heard in Crete on Friday.
