A Carlow TD has welcomed Eirgrids decision to explore an option of going underground to upgrade the electricity transmission network linking Munster and Leinster.
Following last weeks announcement that an underground route is being proposed for the Grid West project, Eirgrid is now considering a similar option for the Grid Link Project
Eirgrid received over 35, 000 submissions during the public consultation on the project which has many of its proposed routes going through Carlow.
Fine Gael ‘s Pat Deering has told KCLR that Eirgrid may come up with a different option altogether.
