No confirmation of Phil Hogans EU Commission portfolio yet

No agreement has been reached yet on the job Phil Hogan will have if he secures the role of EU Commisioner for Ireland.

EU leaders have failed to agree on a package to secure the candidates for the top jobs in Brussels.

An impasse arose when leaders from the Baltic states refused to support Italy’s foreign minister for the role of high commissioner for foreign policy, saying that she is too supportive of Russia.

The Taoiseach says he has no confirmation yet of Irelands portfolio.

Its widely anticipated that the Agriculture portfolio would be secured for Deputy Hogan.
