Concerns raised over Wind Farm plans in south Kilkenny

A local anti-wind turbine group has expressed concern about the planned construction of turbines on Curraghdobbin and Carrigadoon hills on the Tipperary-Kilkenny border.

Dutch company, DunoAir, is investigating sites on the Coillte-run lands and currently measuring wind speeds on the site near Owning and Windgap.

The Ahenny Action Group says that the Kilkenny townlands most affected include Tullaghought, Castletown, Owning, Windgap, Kilmacoliver, Knockroe, Kiltrassy and Meallaghmore.

Spokesperson for the Ahenny group Gemma Carvosso told KCLR news that the group will strongly oppose the project.
