3 Carlow girls dead following horrific crash near Athy while one remains critical in hospital

Carlow is trying to come to terms with the deaths of 4 local girls in last nights horrific road crash in Athy.

20 year old Chermaine Carroll, Niamh Doyle and Gemma Nolan both 19 – all from Carlow and Aisling Middleton also 19 from Athy lost their lives in the collision.

Friends posted messages on social media as their filtered through.

All were former pupils at St Leos College.

The driver of the car – a 20 year old also from Carlow is still fighting for her life in hospital while the 2 men travelling in the van that collided with her car are also being treated for serious injuries in Naas General Hospital.
