Former Fianna Fail TD Bobby Aylward is to seek the party nomination for the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election in May.
He announced at a party meeting in Mullinavat last night that he had made his mind up and wanted to join the race.

He told KCLR news this morning that he feels he has ‘unfinished business’ and that helped him make the decision.
Councillor Pat McKee who had previously declared his interest looks set to withdraw his name now ahead of the selection convention which is likely to happen in the coming weeks.
Carlow Councillors Jennifer Murnane O Connor and Fintan Phelan are the only others to formally declare so far.
