Sinn Fein to select by-election candidate tonight

Sinn Fein will meet later to select a candidate to run in the Carlow Kilkenny by-election in May.

Mary Lou McDonald and MEP Liadh ni Riada will join local members for the party’s selection convention which takes place in the Lord Bagenal in Leighlinbridge at 8pm.

So far Kilkenny councillor Kathleen Funchion is the only one from the party who’s expressed an interest in running.
