Nearly 4,000 local students begin their Leaving and Junior Certificate exams this morning.
All students will start by sitting English papers at exam halls across Carlow & Kilkenny from 9.30am.
Almost 1,900 students in Carlow and Kilkenny will begin their Leaving Cert exams with English paper one this morning.
Home Economics students must then tackle another exam at 2pm this afternoon.
801 students are sitting the Leaving Cert in Carlow while 1,093 will be examined in Kilkenny.
Meanwhile, just over 2,000 students will be sitting both Junior Certificate English papers today in the two counties.
The Leaving Cert Applied examinations also begin this morning with the English and Communication paper.
