A complete ban on visitors to St Lukes Hospital for Carlow Kilkenny has been put in place.
The hospital has issued the ban in a bid to try and stop the spread of the Norovirus which is also known as the Vomiting Bug.
The Hospital and HSE says that in the interests of patient care and as a precaution, they’ve had to put the ban in place and are reviewing it on a daily basis.
Visiting to all wards at St. Luke’s General Hospital is banned apart from, Exceptional circumstances, which includes critical care patients and seriously ill/terminally ill patients,.
Maternity/Gynae visits are restricted to partners/designated person only.
Parents/Guardians will only be permitted to the Childrens Ward.
The hospital say theres strictly no children allowed to visit.
They say where appropriate, mobile phone contact between families should be considered as an alternative to visiting.
