The group which owns the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny is to sell off its legacy loans in Ireland in one of the biggest portfolio sales here since the financial crash of 2008.
Lloyds Banking Group is planning to sell €4.2billion of loans with Ireland which they’re calling ‘Project Poseidon’.
It covers the bulk of what remains from Bank of Scotland’s former operations in Ireland and the bids are due now.
A number of high-profile hotel and leisure assets are connected with the portfolio, including the Lyrath Hotel and the Regency Hotel in Drumcondra in Dublin.
