Fine Gael’s Mary Hilda Cavanagh has been elected as the new Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council today.
The meeting finished a short while ago where Fianna Fáil’s Pat Millea stepped down as chairman as his one-year term came to an end.

Councillor Fidellis Doherty has been elected Leas-Chathaoirleach.
Speaking to KCLR, Councillor Cavanagh says she’s delighted to have been elected for the 3rd time in her 41 years as a local representative.
