Kilkenny could be in line for a third level Institute by 2017

A local Councillor says there could be a 3rd level institute in Kilkenny City by 2017.

Newly elected Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Mary Hilda Cavanagh, says that Waterford Institute of Technology are committed to opening a research centre on the Diageo Site in the City.

The Council made the decision to purchase the site in 2012 and there has been much debate in the intervening time about what could be done with it.

Speaking to KCLR, Councillor Cavanagh says that Kilkenny could now be in for a jobs boost sooner rather than later.
