Kilkenny County Council meeting to discuss boundary review

“Kilkenny people want to remain Kilkenny people” – so says Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Mary Hilda Cavanagh.

Councillor Cavanagh was speaking ahead of a special council meeting which takes place this afternoon to discuss the issue of a possible alteration to the border between South Kilkenny and Waterford.

It was announced last week by Waterford TD Paudie Coffey that a Boundary Commission has been established to review the current border.

Speaking to KCLR, the Cathaoirleach says while cooperation is necessary, at the moment it’s hands-off as far as she’s concerned.
