There’s no ease in sight just yet, with rain and wind set to stay until tomorrow morning at the earliest.
Met Eireann has issued an updated Red Weather Alert for Connacht, Donegal Clare and Kerry, as Storm Desmond crosses the country.
They’re forecasting rainfall of 40 to 60 millimeters in addition to severe rainfall over the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a number of flights and ferries have been cancelled as a result of the storm.
