Ann Phelan says any dishonesty on declarations of interest were not deliberate

Minister Ann Phelan has moved to clarify why she is set to feature in a an investigation into standards in public office documentary on TV tonight.

The Carlow Kilkenny TD is name-checked in the RTE Investigates examination of the declarations of interest of elected representatives in the country.

The declarations must be made each year by politicians to ensure conflicts of interests do not arise.

In Minister Phelans case it relates to a second house that she owns that was not on the register.

She told KCLR Live earlier there was no deliberate dishonesty involved on her part.
