Missing Kilkenny teens located: Parents warned of disturbing ‘challenge’

Two Kilkenny teenagers reported missing yesterday have now been located.

A 14-year-old girl from Kilkenny City and a 15-year-old boy from Castlecomer were reported missing after they didn’t show up for school yesterday morning.

Friends and family were suggesting on social media last night that they may have got on a bus headed for Dublin.

Kilkenny Gardaí have told KCLR News that they were located safe and sound in Kilcullen, Kildare at about 6 am this morning.

Parents are also being warned about a growing challenge among teenagers to see who can go “missing” for the longest.

As part of this challenge they must also get media coverage and a high number of ‘shares’ on social media.

Apparently, to go missing for 72 hours or more is the target.
