Kilkenny’s newest monument is a “testament to both hurling and it’s sculptor”.
The words of Senior Hurling manager, Brian Cody at the unveiling of the 14-foot tribute to the unofficial sport of the county this morning (Thursday, May 26th).
Brian, along with the Mayor and Cathaoirleach presented the statue to the Kilkenny public at around 11 o’clock this morning on the Canal Square.
It features three hurlers, in black and amber, wearing helmets, reaching for a sliotar.
Speaking to KCLR, Brian says it’s an impressive work by the sculptor, Barry Wrafter.
