A Kilkenny school looks set to lose one of it’s teaching staff due to lack of numbers

A Sinn Féin TD has called on the Minister for Education to intervene and prevent the loss of a vital teaching post at Burnchurch National School.

Natasha Newsome Drennan said it was due to being just one student short of the departmental enrolment threshold.

The school provides education for the local community and also has an excellent ASD unit.

Deputy Newsome Drennan believes that some leeway from the Minister of Education needs to be applied.
