A local Councillor says it’s not acceptable that mental health services are not available for locals at weekends

Denis Foley has slammed the mental health services available to people in Carlow and Kilkenny.

The Bagenalstown Fine Gael Councillor raised the issue at the recent meeting of Carlow county council.

He says people who present themselves with mental health issues often aren’t treated as quickly as they should be.

Speaking to KCLR about the mental health services, Councillor Foley says better resources need to be put in place.
