A meeting today aims to help relieve pressure on DOP beds in Kilkenny
A meeting today aims to relieve the pressure on beds at the local Department of Psychiatry in St Lukes Hospital.
Tipperary Independent TD Seamus Healy last week told KCLR that he’s part of a deputation due to sit down with Mental Health Minister Jim Daly to discuss reopening 50 spaces at St Micheal’s Unit in Clonmel.
Their closure in 2012 meant patients were then transferred to Kilkenny which has contributed to capacity issues there.
The ‘Save our Acute Hospital Services’ group hopes to have that overturned at today’s get-together.
