Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash in Waterford early this morning.
A car struck a pedestrian shortly before 2:10am in Sallypark, the man aged in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured.
The road is currently closed from Rice Bridge to the New Rath Road roundabout, with diversions in place.
The road is preserved for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct an examination of the scene.
Anyone who saw the incident, or may have dash-cam footage between 1:30am and 2:15am, is asked to contact them at Waterford Garda Station.
