Solid fuel and transport emissions need to be urgently tackled to meet Ireland’s Clear Air Strategy.
A new report from the Environmental Protection Agency shows while Ireland’s air quality is currently on target, the World Health Organisation is advising there are no safe levels of air pollution.
Results from monitoring at EPA stations across the country show that Kilkenny recorded Ozone (O3) levels greater than the hourly limit of 120
g/m3 on three consecutive dates – 13th to 15th of June while the county, with Carlow, were among those for which the daily limit for Particulate Matter (PM) wasn’t exceeded.
