You might think it’s unusual for a charity to want to give any of its donations back, but that’s exactly what the women’s refuge in Kilkenny is looking to do with one particular item.
Staff at Amber say they received a bag of donations from a very kind local sometime in the latter half of last year.

However, when they went through it they found what appears to be a wedding ring which they don’t think the person meant to donate.
Claire O’Neill works for the refuge and she told KCLR they’re launching a public appeal now to reunite it with its owner.
She says it likely to be mans ring or a large ladies ring. There is a ladies name inscribed on it with a date in 2007 also on the inside of the band.
