Gardaí in Carlow are appealing for the public’s help in locating two men who were involved in an armed robbery in Bagenalstown this afternoon.
The incident took place around 3 o’clock at Aldi in the town where money was taken from a cash-delivery van.
The security guard handling the cash-box was approached by two men, believed to be dressed in dark clothes, and threatened with what appeared to be guns.
The box and it’s contents were recovered about a mile outside of Bagenalstown on the road to Dunleckney.
UPDATE:
The black BMW Coupé, suspected to have been used by the individuals involved, has been located.
The vehicle was found burning in the early hours of this morning in Raheenleigh, Myshall – not far from Bagenalstown.
