This season has been nothing short of historic for Bennekerry Tinryland, who captured their maiden Leinster title in an impressive campaign. Experienced player Deirdre Tomlinson reflected on the team’s journey, highlighting the significance of their achievements so far.

“All I ever wanted was one [county title],” said Tomlinson. “I think now, like, it would be just my wildest dreams that not only [have I] won one, I’ve won six now. We’ve had a few tough runs in Leinster, but this year, it’s really all kind of coming together. It’s amazing to have a Leinster title in our club, and maybe just go on and see what could happen.”

The team’s Leinster final victory marked a high point in their journey, and now they aim to take it one step further on the national stage. Their opponents, Mullahoran, are sure to pose a stern challenge. Playing at Kingspan Breffni Park, they’ll have the advantage of home support, but Bennekerry Tinryland’s momentum and determination could make the difference.

This is a special moment not just for the players but also for the community, who have rallied behind the team every step of the way. With history already made in Leinster, a victory this weekend would bring Bennekerry Tinryland one step closer to an All-Ireland title, a dream that once seemed distant but now feels within reach.

Be sure to tune in to KCLR this Saturday to follow what promises to be a thrilling encounter as Bennekerry Tinryland chase All-Ireland glory with that game brought to you with thanks to Dan Morrissey and Co, in a league of their own with a full range of concrete, quarry products, roof tiles, macadam and super fine ground limestone.
