Butts residents angered by proposed developments for the area

Is the Butts about to become the Ballymun of Kilkenny City? That’s the question being posed by residents of the local housing estate.

They’ve been raising their concerns that plans by the council to convert a house there into office space and a community laundrette would drive even more traffic into an already busy estate.

They also say they were never consulted by the local authority about the 21 new social housing units that are to be built in the area.

Speaking to KCLR Live this morning, Butts native, Mary Delaney says communication has been very poor.
