Candidates from Laois and Wexford among those bidding for top spots in the Irish Farmers Association
Francie Gorman from Laois is hoping to replace Tim Cullinan as President while Wexfordian Alice Doyle is bidding to become the Deputy President

The nomination deadline has now closed for the top positions within the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA).
Two candidates will battle it out to replace Tim Cullinan as the organisation’s President – these are the current South Leinster Chair Francie Gorman from Laois and Martin Stapleton from Limerick, both of whom received the required number of nominations.
While two candidates will also contest the position of Deputy President; Alice Doyle from Wexford and Pat Murphy from Galway.
Election debates will take place in October, with votes to be counted on December 12th.
