Carlow and Kilkenny interest in this year’s Irish Film and Television Awards

Nominations for this year’s Irish and Film Awards are out and there’s plenty of Carlow and Kilkenny interest. 

Saoirse Ronan, who spent most of her childhood in Ardattin, and Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, whose wife is Kilkenny native and artist Yvonne McGuinness, are both in the running.

Added to the list is Kildare man Paul Mescal who has family in our locality, as well as Andrew Scott, Jessie Buckley, Barry Keoghan, Pierce Brosnan and Eve Hewson.

The ceremony takes place on the 20th of April at the Royal Dublin Convention Centre, and will be hosted by Baz Ashmawy.

Movies in the Best Film category include ‘Double Blind’, ‘Flora and Sun’ and ‘Lies We Tell’.
