We’ll find out later if Carlow and Kilkenny have been successful in this year’s SuperValu Tidy Towns competition.
It’s the 65th anniversary of the contest and will see over 600 volunteers from the country attend the awards ceremony at Croke Park in Dublin this afternoon with the event live-streamed to thousands more online.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys will be revealing the winners; ”The SuperValu Tidy Towns community awards is a huge event for the community groups up and down the country. It’s now in its 65th year and I’m absolutely delighted for the first time the awards are taking place in Croke Park. So for today it’s an opportunity for us to celebrate our volunteers the length and breath of the country.”
