Upgrading Tullow Street in Carlow Town is long overdue, according to a local councillor.
Back in October councillors were told that no works could take place on the street until at least 2018 because Irish Water would have to upgrade the pipes there first.
However, engineers were asked to go away and see if another solution could be arrived at to speed up the process.
It’s understood that report is due to be presented at today’s Municipal District meeting.
Councillor Walter Lacey told KCLR News it’s vital that they get moving. He’s hopeful of getting a positive update today.
