There are a lot of obstacles facing local community groups when it comes to trying to get defibrillators.
That’s according to Carlow’s Fire Chief, Alan O’Neill.
Members of Carlow’s Fire Service were commended by the Council’s Director of Services, Séamus O’Connor at the council’s monthly meeting yesterday.
They relayed the story of how a man was brought back to life in Hacketstown last week thanks to CPR and the community defibrillator.
Speaking to KCLR News at the meeting, Alan says it’s important that every community has a defibrillator.
However, he says cost is a huge barrier to a lot of rural areas.
