Carlow Kilkenny Dog Shelter closed due to outbreak of Parvo Virus

The Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter has been forced to close their doors due to an outbreak of the Parvo virus.

Staff at the shelter are hoping to re-open on Friday, but it could be Monday before business is back to normal there.

The council have told KCLR News, If there is an emergency and a dog needs to be picked up, they are still in a position to do that and keep it in isolation at the facility.

Locals are being warned that the Parvo virus is highly contagious.
