Carlow principal wants free water allowance for schools

A Carlow principal is calling on the Government to offer schools a free water allowance.

Last week the Government outlined how households will receive a free allowance of 30 thousand litres of water and an additional allowance will be given to cover normal water consumption for children under 18.

This effectively means domestic water charges will not apply to children.

However, Carlow Cllr Fergal Browne is pointing out that schools should benefit from a similar policy instead of having to pay huge water bills.
