Carlow set to welcome Syrian refugees

80 Syrian refugees could soon be making their way to Carlow.
Before yesterday’s county council meeting, councillors were given a presentation by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration and Integration fund where the early stages of the plans were outlined.
However, already questions are being raised by councillors as to where they could be housed.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Fergal Browne says while he would welcome any refugees, they need to make sure all the right resources are available.
In recent years Carlow was chosen as the place to re-home a similar number of Rohingyan refugees .
And Councillor Browne says their integration has worked out very well.
